Rotate PDF

Rotate the pages of your PDF by 90, 180 or 270 degrees.

What it is for

Rotating a PDF corrects the orientation of its pages. It sounds minor, but a document that opens sideways forces you to tilt your head or your screen every time, and if you print it, it comes out just as crooked.

The problem shows up mostly with scans and with documents that mix portrait and landscape sheets, such as those containing wide tables or plans. It also affects photos of documents taken with a phone, where orientation depends on how the phone was being held.

This tool applies the rotation to the whole document at once, which is what you need when an entire scan went in the wrong way. The rotation is stored inside the PDF itself, so any program will open it the right way up.

How it works

  1. Upload the PDF that has pages facing the wrong way.
  2. Choose the rotation angle: 90°, 180° or 270°.
  3. Click "Process" and download the PDF with every page already rotated.

When to use it

Sideways scans

When the feeder takes sheets edge-on, the whole document comes out rotated 90 degrees and is fixed in a single pass.

Documents for printing

Setting the orientation before printing avoids wasting paper on test pages that come out wrong.

Reading on a tablet

A correctly oriented PDF reads without fighting the screen’s auto-rotation.

Practical tips

  • The angle is always applied clockwise. To turn left, choose 270 degrees.
  • If only some pages are wrong, this is not the tool: use "Organise PDF", which rotates page by page.
  • An upside-down document is fixed with 180 degrees, not with two passes of 90.
  • Rotating changes neither the content nor the file size, only the orientation each page is displayed at.

Frequently asked questions

Does it rotate every page, or can I choose only some?

This tool rotates the whole document. If you only need to rotate specific pages, use "Organize PDF" instead.

Is the rotation always in the same direction?
