What it is for
Extracting pages means keeping a specific selection from a PDF and discarding the rest, producing a single new document. It differs from splitting in that the result here is one file, and the pages do not have to be consecutive.
It is the correct way to share part of a document. Sending the whole contract when the other side only needs the clause on page seven means handing over everything else too: amounts, personal details, terms that were none of their business.
Extraction copies the pages as they are, without recompressing, so the text remains selectable and the images keep their quality.
How it works
- Upload the PDF you want to pull specific pages from.
- Type which pages you need, e.g. "1-3,7" for the first three plus the seventh.

Practical tips
- You can mix ranges and single pages: "1-3,7,12-14" is a valid selection.
- Pages always come out in the original document order, even if you type them out of sequence. For a different order, extract first and then reorder with "Organise PDF".
- Extracting removes nothing from the original file: it creates a new one and leaves yours intact.
- Bear in mind that removing pages does not clear the document metadata (author, creating software). If that matters to you, check it separately.
