Every photo a phone takes carries far more information than you can see. That is the EXIF block: phone model, exact date and time, camera settings and, in many cases, the GPS coordinates of where it was taken. All of it travels with the file when you share it.
The consequences are not theoretical. Posting a photo taken at home can reveal the address to within metres. Selling something online with pictures taken at your address leaves that information available to anyone who knows how to look inside the file. Large social networks usually strip metadata on upload, but email, messaging apps that send as a file, and classified-ad sites frequently do not.
This tool redraws the image from scratch, copying only the pixels. The result looks exactly the same but carries no hidden data, because the new file is built clean rather than trying to erase fields from the original.
